It’s a good idea to get organized before you start the process of applying for college student financial aid. Set aside a drawer or file cabinet to hold the documents that you will need to apply for financial aid so you don’t find yourself having to rummage through stacks of paper every time you fill out an application.
DOCUMENTS NEEDED FOR FAFSA You will need the following information to complete the FAFSA financial aid forms necessary for determining federal student financial aid eligibility. Many scholarship and state programs will also require copies of or information from these documents.
If you plan to apply for any scholarships or other types of financial aid assistance, it is a good idea to keep these additional documents with the information you will need to complete the FAFSA:

![]() As students, we are fortunate. We are fortunate not only as recipients of the Terry Foundation Scholarship, but that we were chosen as Terry Scholars for Texas Tech University. We were chosen for this place, and this place is unique. Lubbock, and by extension, Texas Tech University is privileged to be the gateway to the Llano Estacado and the American Southwest. This region is home to a dynamic landscape, an ever-changing climate, and a hard-working, honest people. This land is historically a land of frontiers, fostering a culture of optimism and freedom. Life on the Llano Estacado is unhindered by the stuffy expectations and rigidity of urban centers. The settlers of this place were free to forge their own destiny. And so are we. The lands that project out from this point are vibrant and full of life. The students emerge from this place are too. Here we are free to learn, create and grow, rewarded each evening with a West Texas sunset. We invite you to share in our love for Lubbock this evening as we celebrate the generous gift of the Terry Foundation Scholarship. It brought us here. - Nathan Havens
