Session 1: Meet Your Academic Leadership
One of the pillars of the Terry Program selection criteria
is leadership. Leadership is a skill that can be learned. Some of the best
people to learn from on campus at Texas Tech are those already in leadership. It
is a good idea to meet your dean, department chair, etc. at least once in your
first year, just to get to know her or him. You might even meet them in a
different context: as a course instructor or in some other capacity. Your
academic leadership is in a position to help you deal effectively with
circumstances that could affect your academic experience.
