Tips for Topics

Career Center
College is definitely a fun experience – but after four years, we have to actually use the degrees we just earned. The Career Center offers many different things for students to help them prepare for life after college.

Study Abroad
Tech students get our guns up all over the world! Through the International Cultural Center, students can plan a study abroad experience anywhere in the world. Where would you go?

Campus Traditions
The end of a great era happened this summer as the first Masked Rider passed away. Midnight Matador, tortilla throwing, fight songs, and getting our guns up are many of the reasons we love Texas Tech.

Athletics
Our coach is hotter than your coach! With Kingsbury returning to Lubbock, the spirit for Tech athletics has caught on fire. Teach us something great about your favorite Tech athletics team – even intermural sports!

Academics
Underwater Basket Weaving?! There are some pretty interesting courses out there! Know an interesting professor? Dr. Brink smokes his pipe outside of McClellan Hall every morning while Dr. Caswell just left for a semester in Iceland!

Student Housing
Texas Tech just broke ground for a new upperclassman residence hall. Tell us what you like about where you live – your neighbors in the dorm, the pool at your apartment complex or your own backyard at a house.

The LBK
Located in the middle of West Texas, Lubbock is a college town oasis. There are many community events, nightlife, and unique shopping places in Lubbock. What’s your favorite part of the 806?

Public Art & Museums
Did you know the benches outside of the Electronic Media and Communications building are shaped like punctuation marks? Our campus is full of unique public art that you can discover by walking around for an afternoon. Tech also has two museums on campus and the First Friday Art Trail is a city-wide event held every month downtown!

The SUB
The Student Union Building is the center of campus. In addition to nearly 500 student organizations under the Center for Campus Life, the SUB is home to many great dining options, a bank, study spaces, Barnes & Noble and more. What will you find when exploring the SUB?

Dining
Did you know that our campus dining has several award-winning chefs? Or that you can find the best breakfast burritos at a tiny restaurant on 34th Street? From good and bad, “dorm food” to local restaurants that are often featured in Texas Monthly, students in Lubbock will never be hungry.
